Xbox One March update

Xbox One March Update to include dolby digital 5.1, but no friends online notifications

Xbox One's March update will include support for 5.1 optical sound but for those of us who are hoping for notifications of friends coming online will yet again have to wait for yet another update. Fingers crossed

The March update will finally support Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, meaning that gaming headsets will now be able to have a full surround signal over an optical audio cable. The console was released without Dolby Digital support and the only option that was available was digital surround output over HDMI. Director of production, Albert Penello said that the option was not include due to a software scheduling issue.

The March update will also include an update for the Xbox One party system and friends list, but the notification when a friends pop's up online will hopefully be added on the next update.

Microsoft plan to release the Xbox One update before the launch of Titanfall on March 11
