Return of The Matrix

The Matrix Re-Reloaded

With the current success of old films getting a new life, such as Planet of the Apes, Spider Man, Star Trek and X-Men. It now appears that Warner Brothers have set their eye's upon bringing back a certain sci-fi classic that we never expected to see again. It appears that just maybe we will be jumping back into the Matrix for one last time. (Well three to be exact.)

While it has been over 10 years since the last Matrix movie was released, it appears that Warner Bros and Wachowskis are aiming to bring some new life into the franchise after the second and third movie left Matrix fans wanting more.

When the Matrix was first released back in 1999, it was a huge box office success, raking in £276.6 ($463.5m) million worldwide. It was also an outstanding success when it came to the state of the art special effects and stunts that were performed during the original that made it an instant hit with fans. The Matrix reloaded and the Matrix Revolutions may both have been commercially successful taking in a total of £697.8 million. But the sequels were not a success when it came to their fans, many of whom found them terrible and that they didn't make sense.

However you do have to look at the fact that Wachowskis already have Jupiter Ascending releasing later this year and has the potential to be a sufficient franchise starter. So you have to wonder why they are so persistent to see the return of a new Matrix trilogy and will this have any affect on the quality of Jupiter Ascending ?

I guess we will have to wait and see, Jupiter Ascending is coming to UK cinemas on 25th July.
